Aran Islands
The Aran Islands are a group of three islands at the mouth of Galway Bay on the west coast of Ireland. Inishmore is the largest island, then Inishmaan and finally Inisheer; the smallest. There are a number of ancient forts such as Dun Aengus and Dun Chonchuir on the islands. There are also clocháns (huts from the early Christian period). The Aran Islands have become a popular tourist draw for the region.
